If Guillermo del Toro made a movie about a crab walking across a linoleum kitchen floor, I’d be excited to see it!! Luckily for us he’s too busy at the moment to make this cinematic crustacean film. One project of his I’ve been eager to see is CRIMSON PEAK, which is described as a gothic horror story. Del Toro has had so many projects on his plate no one really knew what he was currently working on or which would be his new project. In a recent article posted by The Hollywood Reporter, they confirm that del Toro will begin production on CRIMSON PEAK after he’s done shooting THE STRAIN pilot for FX (which is in itself great news).
The gothic horror story [Crimson Peak], being made by Legendary Pictures, is set to shoot from Feb. 10 to May 14.
Crimson Peak portrays a young author who discovers that her husband is not who he appears to be.
Del Toro wrote the script with Matthew Robbins, with Lucinda Coxon doing a rewrite.
Tom Hiddleston, Emma Stone, Charlie Hunnam, Mia Wasikowska, Jessica Chastain, and Jim Beaver star with, of course, del Toro directing. In previous interviews, Del Toro described the film as “a very set-oriented, classical but at the same time modern take on the ghost story. It will allow me to play with the conventions of the genre I know and love and at the same time subvert the old rules.” Sounds great to me!!
Stay Bloody!!!
